Keeping Our Employees’ Health and Well-Being a Priority

The Kiwanis Nursing Home recognizes that the health and well-being of our staff is a major contributing factor in job satisfaction and performance. In recognition of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to encourage healthy choices, Kiwanis offers the following incentives:

Health and Wellness Policy – Employee health and wellness is top priority. Caring for the nursing home residents in a way that offers genuine respect and dignity requires a healthy staff base. As an employer, Kiwanis offers tools and incentives for smoking cessation, gym membership reimbursement, and access to health and wellness resources in the community.

Employee Family and Assistance Provider (EFAP) – Employees of the Kiwanis Nursing Home have 24/7 free, confidential access to all services offered through LifeWorks. This program includes resources under the umbrellas of Life, Health, Family, Work, and Money.

Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Training – With onsite coaching available, Kiwanis embraces the concept of person-centered care by incorporating GPA training with all staff members. This training enhances education as well as training techniques, and approach to working with residents who live with a cognitive impairment. GPA training focuses on resident care from a humanistic, professional, and interpersonal level.
