Keeping Our Employees’ Health and Well-Being a Priority

The Kiwanis Nursing Home recognizes that the health and well-being of our staff is a major contributing factor in job satisfaction and performance. In recognition of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to encourage healthy choices, Kiwanis offers the following incentives:

Health and Wellness Policy – this policy offers tools and monetary incentives for smoking cessation, gym membership reimbursement, and access to a variety of on-site fitness classes; hosted on a weekly basis. Kiwanis employees are also able benefit from access to the on-site fitness gym, located in the Hospital.

Employee Family and Assistance Provider (EFAP) – Kiwanis offers 24/7, free, and confidential services through provider, Morneau Shepell, to all staff and family.

Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Training – With 2-onsite coaches available, Kiwanis embraces the concept of person-centered care by incorporating GPA training with all staff members. This training enhances education as well as training techniques, and approach while working with cognitively impaired adults. GPA training focuses on resident care from a humanistic, professional, and interpersonal level.
